Drylining FAQs
What is drylining?
Drylining is building and finishing internal walls and ceilings with plasterboard instead of wet plaster on masonry. It covers metal stud partitions, MF ceilings, fixing boards to walls (dot and dab or lining systems) and finishing them by taping and jointing or skimming. It's faster and drier than traditional plastering.
Do you work for homeowners as well as contractors?
Yes. About half our work is for main contractors and builders, the rest is extensions, lofts and renovations for homeowners.
Do you offer labour-only or supply and fix?
Both. Contractors often want labour-only; homeowners and smaller builders usually prefer us to supply materials as well.
Which areas do you cover?
All of Essex, including Chelmsford, Basildon, Southend, Brentwood, Billericay, Wickford, Rayleigh, Colchester, Braintree, Witham, Harlow, Thurrock and Maldon.
How do I get a quote?
Send drawings or photos and a rough idea of the job through the contact form or by phone. We'll arrange a site visit if needed and send an itemised quote.
How experienced are you?
Very. BBS is a family of dryliners with over 30 years in the trade between us, trading as BBS Drylining Specialists Ltd since 2017. We take on everything from single rooms to commercial fit-outs and bespoke feature ceilings.
Do you build feature and coffered ceilings?
Yes — coffered grids, recessed rafts, circular recesses, shadow gaps and concealed LED troughs, built in plasterboard and finished ready for decoration.
